Important Graduation Information

Graduation is a time of celebration and is a reflection of you and your family. We strive to make this a special day for all involved. The Class of 2016 will be graduating on June 3, 2016, at 7 p.m. on the campus of Holmes High School. Due to safety concerns regarding the press box and possible construction, the ceremony will be held at David M. Evans Fieldhouse (the school gymnasium).

Mandatory Graduation Practice

A mandatory graduation practice will be held on June 3. We will begin the morning with a hot catered breakfast in the cafeteria at 8:15 a.m. It is very important that you arrive to graduation practice in the Fieldhouse by 9 a.m. If you do not attend graduation practice, you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony.

You will receive the following at graduation practice:

* Cap and gown (you must have to participate)

* 10 tickets (all guests must have a ticket to get into the graduation ceremony)

* Information on ordering pictures

* Holmes medallion

* Congratulations yard sign

Fees

It is the responsibility of each graduate to make sure all fees owed to the school are paid prior to graduation day. This includes any school property, such as textbooks, sports uniforms, lunch charges, library books or any other school fees. Please check with Ms. Holland (bookstore) and Ms. Kennison (library) to see if you owe any fees.

Graduation Attire

Students must dress appropriately under their graduation gowns. White or light-colored clothing for girls are required so the colors do not show through the white gowns. White shirt and dark dress pants are required for boys. Flat dress shoes are suggested. No jeans or gym shoes will be allowed.

Pictures

Someone located near the stage will take pictures as graduates cross the stage to receive their diplomas. You will receive information on ordering these pictures at graduation practice.

Notes

As you cross the stage you will receive your diploma cover. You will have to report to a designated location to receive your actual diploma after the graduation ceremony.
