Principal's Message

Welcome to Glenn O. Swing Elementary School, home of the Wildcats.  I hope you will find useful information about our programs, services and our school on this website.

Our School’s Vision is Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn.

At Glenn O. Swing we have high expectations for students, teachers and parents. Our 30 certified teachers and support staff work together every day to meet the needs of our students.  For the past 5 years we have been identified by the Kentucky Department of Education as a High Progressing Distinguished School.  During these 5 years on 2 occasions we have been identified as a School of Distinction, highest honors in Kentucky for being ranked in the top 1% of the state. We emphasize Service Learning in our social studies curriculum.  We have been recognized as a School of Contribution in the Northern Kentucky Area for the past 10 years. To be recognized as a school of contribution, 100% of your students have to take part in a service learning project. Students have opportunities to express themselves in our creative and performing arts class, offered in cooperation with the Carnegie Center for Visual and Performing Arts, and in our Glee Club.  We also currently have a STEM class offered and a Robotics Team which competes yearly. Our Family Resource Center offers school-based family support in a variety of ways. We also have an afterschool program which runs Monday through Friday each week. Our afterschool program offers academic assistance, as well as many other types of activities including physical activities and the arts.  We are fortunate and grateful to have community support from two Business Education Success Team (BEST) Partners: Ernst and Young and Duke Energy. Our school welcomes parents, community members and business leaders to help us reach our goals, and to join us as we guide our students to Dream, Achieve and Succeed.

Sincerely,

Mr. Alter

School Principal
