Our school offers an after schoool program called, Viking Zone and serves students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Our afterschool program provides students with academic enrichment or "WIN" time, physical fitness time, visual and performing arts opportunities, and also allows students to build relationships with their teachers and peers outside of the regular classroom setting.
Students are divided into small groups and participate in various activites and clubs in the building. They might learn the rules of kickball in the gym, play a learning game in the computer lab, or make a tasty treat in cooking club! The possibilities are endless with this amazing after school program and the students always look forward this time.
Viking Zone takes place Monday-Thursday from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. Each child is provided with an afternoon snack, as well as a hot dinner provided by the Freestore Foodbank.
The afterschool program is very popular with students and parents and there is often a waiting list to attend. If you are interested, please contact our Family Resource Center Coordinator, Marilynn Arnold or the CLC (VIKING ZONE) Coordinator, Yvonne Sweat at 859-292-5823.
