Water Main Break

Attention Latonia Elementary School Families

Latonia Elementary School will be closed at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, February 22, because of a water main break.  Please know, first and foremost, that our number one concern is the safety and health of our students. Parents may begin to pick up students any time after 1 p.m. As we do not want to send students home to a possible unsupervised situation, students who ride the bus or walk, will be kept at school until 3 p.m., unless picked up by a guardian.  Only students who have a parent pick up will be dismissed early.   Parents can pick up their children in their regular dismissal areas.

The water to the school will be shut off sometime after 1 p.m..  Before this time, all students will be fed lunch and have an opportunity to use the restroom.  We have worked with the Northern Kentucky Health Department to facilitate a plan for sanitary bathroom usage. The school also has a hand washing station in combination with hand sanitizer, as well as bottled water available for students if needed.

The dismissal route in the back for parent pick-ups will be modified due to a large sinkhole near the water main break, so please be patient as our main goal is to safely dismiss all students.

Please note that all after school programming will be canceled. If you should have any questions, please call the school, 292-5825.
