Covington Schools

Greetings,

As you may know, the safety of our students and staff is a priority of Covington Independent Public Schools. Therefore, the district has decided to remain closed to in-person instruction next week due to the high number of COVID-19 related illness. Monday, January 10, 2022, will be a teacher/staff workday. Students will not report.  The district has opted to use NTI (non-traditional instruction, or remote learning) days Tuesday – Friday, January 11-14, 2022Monday, January 17, 2022 is a holiday. As of now, students are expected to return to in-person classes on Tuesday, January 18.

During NTI, students will receive and are expected to complete assignments from their teachers. Parents also will receive information from the middle and elementary schools regarding when to come to school to pick up mobile devices for student use.

Meals will be available for pick up Tuesday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., at all the elementary schools and Holmes High School cafeterias

James E Biggs parents can pick up from any location. Middle school parents may pick up meals at the high school.

Meals will be sent to TLC for the students who live on campus.

The district will send a bus to City Heights on Tuesday from 10:30 - 11 a.m. and provide meals for the week.

For updates, please monitor the district’s website, covington.kyschools.us and Facebook pages. The district also will reach parents via telephone when there is any additional information. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We thank you for your understanding as we are once again facing uncharted territory with this virus.

If you should have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
