The Director of Curriculum and Instruction works with school leadership, instructional coaches and teachers to ensure that every student in the Covington Independent School District has access to a rigorous curriculum and high-quality instruction. As a district, we utilize a balanced assessment system to provide us with a full picture of a student's performance in order to constantly evaluate the effectiveness of our curriculum, planning processes and classroom instruction.
The Director of Curriculum and Instruction also assists in planning school and district-wide professional development opportunities, collaborates with schools on district curriculum materials and instructional programs, coordinates the New Teacher Academy and oversees the Gifted and Talented Program.
