It is an honor to serve as Superintendent of Covington Independent Public Schools.

Covington has a proud history, incredible students, committed educators, and a community that cares deeply about its schools. As we look toward the future, our work is centered on a simple but ambitious goal: ensuring every student experiences the excellent education they deserve.

That means holding high expectations for student learning while also paying close attention to the experiences students have in our classrooms, schools, and community. It means creating strong systems, supporting our educators, listening carefully to students and families, and being willing to improve where improvement is needed.

During my first months as superintendent, I am spending significant time listening and learning from the people who know Covington best. Those perspectives will help shape our path forward as we continue defining what excellence should look like across Covington Independent.

On Opening Day, I challenged our team to See the Light. Be the Light. Carry the Light for Someone Else. That challenge reflects the kind of school community I believe we can continue building together: one that recognizes the brilliance in every student and understands that their success is a shared responsibility.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and excited about what we will accomplish together.
