Read Ready Covington - Footsteps2Brilliance

Read Ready Covington is a community-wide collaborative effort whose collective goals are to ensure Covington's children are truly ready for Kindergarten and proficient readers by the end of grade three. This is accomplished in partnership with families, caregivers, schools, social services, businesses, health care and YOU!

Read Ready Covington hosts multiple ways for families to be involved:

  • Complete one of our 6 Word Walk Scavenger Hunts in town

  • Participate in the 2 Annual Reading Challenges (MAYOR'S WINTER READING CHALLENGE in November-December and READ ACROSS COVINGTON in March). 75 minutes weekly F2B use qualifies PreK - 3rd graders for raffle prizes!

  • Attend the annual Early Childhood Fun Fest each June (Target group: families with children infant to age six)

  • Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ3/SE) are available at pediatrician offices, the public library, and several events and partner sites throughout the year. The ASQ3/SE early development screeners monitor growth and help identify any delays in development (available 1 month- age six). Contact the Kenton County Public Library to arrange an appointment. The ASQ3/SE is a screener used to help identify needed referrals and services to help kids thrive.

  • Join Read Ready's efforts with your ideas, questions and time at 859.292.2301or info@readreadyky.org for more information.
