Sadye Dean

As we celebrate 200 years of public education, we are proud to honor a remarkable educator who left a lasting legacy in our community.

Ms. Sadye Dean, a former teacher at the historic Lincoln Grant School, dedicated her career to serving students in the early 1950s. Born right here in Covington in 1925, Sadye graduated from William Grant High School before earning her teaching degree from Kentucky State University.

On Friday, September 12, Sadye celebrated her 100th birthday. Her century-long journey has been marked by wisdom, service, and dedication to education, students, and the community she has served.

Happy 100th Birthday, Sadye!
