A Holmes High School student, two Covington Schools employees and a Covington board member were recognized Monday during the annual Northern Kentucky Branch NAACP

Mark McCutchen, a senior at Holmes, received a $1,000 scholarship. Jon Hopkins, Holmes counselor, and Debra Vance, communications director, received the Education Partner Award, and Kareem Simpson, board member, was recognized for his military service. The theme for the luncheon was Moving Beyond the Dream... to Brighten the Future.
