Shining a light on afterschool learning

Throughout October, seven Covington Independent Public Schools celebrated Lights On Afterschool to showcase the amazing ways our students learn, explore, and connect beyond the traditional school day

At Latonia Elementary, the "Cardinal Club CHARGED UP:  Powering Your Curiosity" event brought STEAM to life with some incredible hands-on stations

DIY Suncatchers: Re-purposing recycled lids into colorful artwork.

Short Circuits: 4th and 5th graders problem-solving to power up light bulbs.

Math Glow Bowl: K-2 students knocking down glowing pins and solving math puzzles.

Prism Power: Exploring the light spectrum using flashlights and prisms.

Light Bulb Color Station: Sharing what makes afterschool special for the official Lights On Afterschool day.
