Holmes students attending event

Cincinnati Bengals Defensive End Myles Murphy and his foundation hosted the "Game Changer" event Tuesday, creating an impactful and memorable experience for select students at Holmes Middle and Holmes High School.

To accommodate the celebration, the intersection at 8th and Madison Avenue in Covington was closed to traffic, transforming the area into an interactive venue. Students had the unique opportunity to view an exhibition of racing and sports cars, connect with local vendors, and receive complimentary items including calendars, trading cards and gift cards. A special thank you to Madres and Smoke Justice restaurants for generously sponsoring lunch for all students, and to Better Blend for providing superfood acai bowls.

This collaborative effort was made possible through the coordination of Karrie Crocker, Executive Director of the Myles Murphy Foundation, and Renata Watts, coordinator of the Holmes Middle School Youth Services Center, Ryne Smith, Assistant Principal, Holmes Middle School and Abbie Gillespie, coordinator, Holmes High School Youth Services Center.

A total of 50 students—25 from the high school and 25 from the middle school—were selected to attend based on their exceptional performance in grades, attendance, and behavior.

At 24 years old, Murphy is deeply committed to using his platform to uplift the next generation. Reflecting on the importance of the event, he shared:

"I think they can be a help to the community. I know firsthand that it feels good just to be able to be seen by someone with influence and knowing you are seen and heard. If it helps, I am just all about it."
